A Life-Changing

Journey Awaits You!

Embark on a 6-month Discipleship Training School that combines faith, adventure and outreach. Whether you’re looking to grow closer to God, develop new skills, or step out of your comfort zone: our program is designed for you.

General info

The DTS (Discipleship Training School) is the entry point into YWAM and an opportunity to be challenged as a person, to go deeper in your relationship with God and to be equipped for fulltime missions.

The Discipleship Training School was born from a vision and a need. The vision is to see young people who are passionate for Jesus to go from every nation to every nation to preach the Gospel, heal the sick, and proclaim the Kingdom of God. The need is to have a firm foundation of character, knowledge about the Bible , training for international missions and learning to cultivate a deeply intimate relationship with Jesus.

The DTS is a unique fulltime program which is based around community instead of a classroom. It is designed to be international and interdenominational, and includes a 10-week cross-cultural outreach.

Please note: You must be at least 18 years old (or have completed your country’s equivalent of secondary school) to take part in a DTS.

What does a DTS look like?

There is a 12-week lecture phase followed by a 10- to 12-week outreach to another country. During the Lecture Phase, you can expect to engage in topics such as “The Nature and Character of God,” “The Holy Spirit,” “Biblical Worldview,” “Identity,” “Fear of the Lord,” “Hearing God’s Voice,” “Missions,” and more! You’ll learn how to share the gospel with others, spend time in worship and intercession, join a small group, and serve practically in different ways—all while living together in community.

During the Outreach Phase, you will have the opportunity to apply everything you have learned during the lecture phase, in another part of the world for 10 weeks. All with the goal of “Making God Known.”

In the last two weeks of the school, we want to walk alongside you to explore what your next step might look like. We aim to prepare you to return home and serve in your local church, or we can assist you in pursuing further training relevant to your situation. Alternatively, you could even return as staff to help grow our pioneering location and activities.

Discover topics like:

  • The Nature and Character of God.

  • The Holy Spirit

  • Biblical Worldview

  • Identity

  • Fear of the Lord

  • Hearing God’s Voice

  • Missions

About this DTS

This DTS emphasizes the adventure that it is to walk with God! He has called us to live extraordinary lives, to follow Him radically, and to go to the ends of the earth for the Gospel. Also during lecture phase, we will combine our weekly topic with adventures like abseilen, mountainbiken and many other fun things (that will feel stretching sometimes).

Our vision is to see young people who say yes to God wholeheartedly – and who discover their greatest journey to live.

While our name reflects our proximity to the nearest city, our DTS takes place in a rural environment known for its kitesurfing hotspot: Brouwersdam. That means in your free time, you can enjoy all kinds of water sports (at an added expense).

You’re guaranteed to encounter God, enjoy an incredible and adventurous DTS experience, and discover God’s heart for the world!
